HALIC CULTURE VALLEY ( BALAT FENER HOUSES )
Fener houses are the symbols of the Fener-Balat (Golden Horn) region. These buildings, also known as Fener Mansions (Stone Rooms), are the oldest residences in Istanbul since the 18th century.
On the Haliç coastal road from Eminönü towards Ayvansara, it continues as Haliç Art Center 1 (Genoese House), Haliç Art Center 2 (Stone Room), Haliç Art Center 3 (Office Building) and further on, the Camhane and Women's Works Museum.
The restoration work of these structures, which have remained idle for many years, started in 2021 and the restoration work was completed in 2023. Today, it serves as contemporary art galleries, exhibitions, cultural events and cafes as Haliç Art Focus 1-2-3.
